These terms apply to early access to Rana Maps APIs and software development kits (SDKs) offered by EL-Joy Technologies, Epe, Lagos, Nigeria. By using an API or SDK, you agree to these terms and the acceptable use rules.
Early access
APIs and SDKs are in early access. They may change, move or stop working without notice while we develop them. There is no service level agreement (SLA), uptime promise or support response time yet.
Keys and access
Keep each API key confidential. Do not publish it in client-side code, a public repository or a place where an unauthorised person can use it. Tell us promptly if a key is exposed. You are responsible for requests made with your key and for protecting it from your users and contractors.
Attribution and data use
Keep “Rana Maps” and “© OpenStreetMap contributors” visible wherever the map or map data is displayed. Do not remove, hide or obscure attribution.
Do not bulk extract or scrape the APIs or map data, cache responses except where Rana has documented or approved it, train a competing dataset, or rebuild or reproduce Rana's database. Do not bypass rate limits or use the service to make an unauthorised copy of the data. We may set and change rate limits to protect the service.
Your customers and end users
You are responsible for your app, your end users and your use of any information they provide. Give them the privacy notices and choices required by law. Do not send personal information to Rana unless the service requires it and you have a lawful basis to do so. You must protect keys and follow data protection rules that apply to you.
Fees
There is no published price list yet. If fees apply, the amount and billing terms will be set out in a written order before paid access begins. Fees will be billed in Nigerian naira once pricing is available. These terms do not set or promise any price.
Suspension and termination
We may limit, suspend or end access if a key is exposed, use risks the service or other people, you break these terms, or we need to protect the service or comply with law. You may stop using an API or SDK at any time. When access ends, stop using the keys and delete any copies you are not allowed to keep.
Ownership and no warranty
Rana Maps APIs, SDKs and private map data belong to EL-Joy Technologies or its licensors. We give you only the limited right to use them for the agreed early access purpose. OpenStreetMap data and other open-source components remain under their own licences; see attribution.
The early access service is provided as it is and as it is available, without a warranty that data is accurate, complete, uninterrupted or fit for your purpose. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for a claim relating to an API or SDK is limited to the fees you paid for that service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. If no fees were paid, the cap is the amount the law allows. This limit does not apply where the law does not allow it.
Law and courts
Nigerian law governs these terms. Courts in Lagos State, Nigeria, will hear disputes, subject to any mandatory rule that says otherwise.
These API and SDK terms are a draft pending legal review.
